What’s the Matter with Bob?

The Buddha of Bernicia (BOB) series continues. If you missed the first two episodes, here they are – Part One and Part Two.

In the event you’ve got this far, dear listener, then thank you – I appreciate your attention.

All the while, and increasingly as the twenty-two thousand three hundred days continues to pile up, the nonsensical nature of this realm becomes ever clearer as I am reminded that all is fiction – we are indeed but the imaginations of ourselves and so, with that in mind, I have to assert that the Buddha is his own fictional creation and that the adage,

If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him

is a valid one.

How could it be anything less? For where he goes, ego goes too and, ergo, the ego becomes a prison. Lost in the delusion, asserting that all is true when all is fiction, creates a tension that twangs like a guitar string and then breaks like beads of sweat on the buddha’s brow.

I am almost tempted to issue a disclaimer,

“This story was based on fact. Any similarity with fictitious events or characters was purely coincidental”

but such disclaimers are preposterous in a world that is fictional.

That assertion, incidentally, was one that caused BOB to bristle for he took it as an affront to his essential truth concerning his fictional self; the notion that I only speak the truth, I only write and talk of things which are factual and thus truthful.

It is, when all is said and done, a paradox – the world is a perceived reality and we are each perceiving it and ourselves through the prisms and prisons of our thinking.

And so, we return to the narrative, in which the Author considers the following aspects of the matter,

Attention – who craves the attention and why? – an Indian Fakir arrives – a centuries’ old prophecy – the society of Sidhars – egregores out to get you – are we in a photo-negative realm – unravelling the tangles, pulling out the knots of the narratives – do we need to trust others? – should we trust them and why? – the Kylie Minogue element – an Oscar ceremony to end them all – Pulp Fiction and the power of imagination – Mi5 assassins – tarot cards – a detention under the Mental Health Act at Highbury Vale Hospital
