Just LARP-ing Around

When all the world truly is a stage and each of us is an actor playing his own unique role, then it should not surprise us that LARP-ing is an actual and necessary aspect of this realm.

The term is an acronym for ‘Live Action Role Playing’ (LARP) and its modern origins are from the 1990s and peoples’ fondness for playing role play games like ‘Dungeons and Dragons’. It is now, in the common parlance, a term used to mock those who are going around and indulging in LARPs that to the observer may appear somewhat crazy to the point of ridiculous. For instance, take a look at this image of those consummate LARPers of the British Royal Crime Family. The Saxe Coberg Gotha Windsor Crime Family have been poncing about in such roles for some 200+ years.

Pomp and Circumstance is an expression in which there lies the key to all of it – it is ‘gaming’.

I once asked a judge called Richard Inglis why my affidavit of the facts pertaining to my void mortgage did not stand (as he was claiming) as the truth of the matter vs the Bradford and Bingley as none of it had been rebutted.

“Isn’t this how the game is played, your honour?”
Somewhat annoyed at my perceived impudence, he replied,
“It’s not a game, Mr Kaye!”
“Well, it has rules, doesn’t it? That makes it a game.”

Not for the first, nor the last time, Dickie was wrong. I’ve often realised that life is to be taken as a game and is to be played lightly. In fact, you could say it has to be taken as a joke as it is too serious not to be.

It’s all rather paradoxical, isn’t it? The individual is in this world but he is not of it. It seems real but it isn’t.

The live action and drama pulls us into narratives that are scripted and some people called ‘crisis actors’ even get paid for their LARPing at state-sponsored rehearsals that sometimes go ‘live’ midway through the exercise.

Where is the levity, where is the sense of fun, where is the unbridled laughter in the face of the absurdity?

The trial of the Starmer Arsonist Rent Boys is a case in point. Personally, I find the entire narrative to be hilarious: 3 LARPers of Ukrainian origin purportedly fire bombed Starmer’s former properties and were held on remand for over a year. They were each ‘male models’ (i.e ‘rent boys’) and in the staged hearing they claimed they had been funded by a Russian bloke called ‘El Money’. One of them has been falsely adjudged to have an I.Q of 70 even though he had six companies and had successfully facilitated the export of two cars to his dad in the Ukraine.

And what, you may ask, was the motive behind the attacks? Well, the LARPers playing the chief prosecutor and the judge determined that it was not relevant and, contrary to hundreds of years of English jurisprudence, commanded that logic and reason would not be permitted in the Court room.

That is as hilariously ridiculous as it is nonsensical. But when we know that the captured judiciary has closed ranks to defend one of its own (a Knight of the Realm) and that it is done at the expense of logic and reason, or, the turning of a knowingly blind eye to the uncomfortable facts, then we can drop our incredulity.

Little wonder the fellow who has been reporting on it (in the absence of any corporate media reportage) feels spun out. Believe me, sitting in a court, day after day, listening to members of the BAR, LARPing around in their wigs and black gowns, spinning out deceptions whilst covering up uncomfortable facts like those of the gay trio’s targeting of the PM’s properties will inevitably spin your head. It is like sitting at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and drinking cup after cup of magic mushroom tea.

I don’t know where it will end, or even if it will, but its does seem very clear that we are in the last days of Empire and madness abounds – these analogies sum it up very well:

The author argues that staging a brutal UFC bloodsport event on the White House lawn (with figures like Dana White, Trump allies, and media backers like the Ellisons) is the ultimate modern “circus” — more outrageous and violent spectacles signal faster collapse.

Tone: Strongly critical of the event as a symptom of cultural and imperial decay. It ends by noting that all empires fall (Romans, Ottomans, British, etc.), and this one is doing it “live on air, from the back garden of the presidential palace.”  Summary by Grok.

 

The parallels cannot be ignored – unless, that is you are one of the fake controllers who’s swirling around in the eye of the hurricane, desperately trying to get a grip on the LARP of all LARPS.

At this point, I would not rule out the possibility of Trump divorcing his whore-wife and marrying his horse, if he has one.

Lightness of heart is the only antidote to the heavy propaganda, whichever angle we look at it from.

That said, I’m struggling to come to an understanding of what Starmer is seeking to impose on the technology/social media ‘giants’ (pygmies, really) with this utter claptrap

Would I be bothered if I could not access the tinterweb any more? Probably not – I’m happy to return to analogue and put pen to paper, post only on my site and have my digital works converted to book form.
