A heart-warming Christmas Tale from Nottingham.
As a bonus adjunct to my essay on this very matter, Park and Ride: Nottingham Council’s Extortion Racket Revealed, this talk and walk RogueCast was recorded on a 6 mile ramble around the ancient back-roads of the Derwent Valley, near Belper in Derbyshire on 19th December, 2025.
It begins with a cauldronesque weir, climbing to the age-old road called the Chevin, descends to Makeney, where I enjoy a pint and a burger, before heading back North to Belper on Dark Lane.
En route, I recount the details of a Magistrates’ Hearing that took place on 11th December, 2025, take a look and some of the local sites, ramble along a dark lane and tie it all up by dusk.
Please note that there is an error in the video: the ‘release’ charge is £140. This amounts to £1,400 per week or £72,800 per annum and not the figure stated.
Thank you for watching and may I take this opportunity to wish all my readers and viewers a splendid Yuletide, with love from Nottinghamshire.
